Gyeonggi-do Provides 400,000 KRW for Uniform Purchase to Middle and High School Students in Alternative Education Institutions

Gyeonggi Province, in cooperation with 31 cities and counties, will provide actual expenses of up to 400,000 KRW for purchasing school uniforms to students attending alternative educational institutions and middle and high schools located in other cities and provinces. This amount is 100,000 KRW higher than last year and is the same amount as the free school uniform support project for middle and high school students supported by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education.

The support targets are first-year middle and high school students who have transferred or enrolled in alternative educational institutions (regardless of region) with their resident registration in Gyeonggi Province as of the date of admission or transfer, or students enrolled in middle and high schools located in other cities and provinces who are not eligible to receive support for school uniforms or other group uniforms.

The support items include group uniforms such as winter uniforms, summer uniforms, daily uniforms, and physical education uniforms, and students can receive support regardless of the item if wearing them is stipulated in the school regulations.

Applications can be submitted by parents or students through Gyeonggi Minwon 24 (https://gg24.gg.go.kr) from March 13 to December 6 by submitting necessary documents such as receipts for purchasing group uniforms and certificates of enrollment to receive reimbursement for the actual cost of purchasing group uniforms in cash.

Park Sang-eung, Director of the Education Cooperation Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through this support for purchasing group uniforms, we will strive to realize universal educational welfare without blind spots," and added, "We hope to reduce the economic burden on parents in Gyeonggi Province and ultimately become a Gyeonggi Province where opportunities for future generations are guaranteed."
