AhnLab announced on the 11th that it will acquire Cloudmate, a cloud native specialized company.
On the same day, AhnLab's board of directors resolved to acquire 95.71% of Cloudmate's shares through the purchase of existing shares and a third-party allotment paid-in capital increase. A total of 3.48 million shares will be acquired for approximately 15 billion KRW. AhnLab plans to complete the acquisition procedures by April and incorporate Cloudmate as a subsidiary.
Through this acquisition, AhnLab expects to create technological synergy by combining its security framework-based cloud construction and operation capabilities with Cloudmate's expertise in 'cloud native.' Based on this, business synergy effects are also anticipated by providing cloud environments optimized for the diverse needs of various customers.
Cloudmate, established in December 2018, is a cloud native specialized company. It currently provides full-stack cloud management services (MSP) including support for cloud native transformation such as ▲cloud-based generative artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning operations (MLOps) environment construction ▲DevOps ▲application modernization to customers in various fields such as large corporations, e-commerce, and gaming companies. It is currently an active Silver member of the CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation).
Kang Seok-gyun, CEO of AhnLab, said, "With the emergence of new technologies such as generative AI, both high usability and security have become important for organizations adopting the cloud," adding, "Through this acquisition, AhnLab will provide differentiated services for customers' 'secure cloud native' utilization."
