Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that it has launched a basic planning project to improve the odor at the Gulpo Sewage Treatment Plant.

Previously, the city formed an advisory group of 17 experts in water and sewage and odor fields, together with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), to enhance the objectivity and professionalism of the project. Subsequently, on the 23rd of last month, the first on-site meeting was held to gather opinions and conduct field investigations.
Daejang New Town, whose development plan was confirmed by the government in 2019, is expected to be established near the Gulpo Sewage Treatment Plant around 2029.
