This year, the Gochang-gun Resident Participatory Budget system extended the focused application period from May 31 to July 31 to reflect the voices of various groups and generations, including youth and young adults.
In particular, active promotion will be carried out to actively incorporate opinions from the Youth Participation Committee and the Youth Policy Council.
The Gochang-gun Resident Participatory Budget system is a program that allows residents to directly participate in the entire budget process, aiming to strengthen the democracy, accountability, and transparency of financial execution by reflecting residents' opinions on necessary budgets for the county.
Last year, 81 projects were received, and 26 projects aimed at improving the convenience of Gochang residents, such as the "Wildfire Risk Alert Installation Project" and "Five Senses Experience Gochang Outing," were included in this year’s budget.
County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “Active and practical participation of residents is a great driving force for achieving ‘Greater Leap, Better Gochang,’” and added, “Gochang-gun will also do its best to promote the qualitative growth of the Resident Participatory Budget system through institutional improvements so that the lives of the local community can become more enriched.”
