"Video Recalled Due to Delivery Error Suddenly Became Evidence of Theft"... Han Moon-chul TV Controversy

"Not Poor Enough to Steal Food," Complaint Raised
Apology Received from Store Owner, but Already Stigmatized as a Thief

A story of a woman whose husband was unfairly accused of being a 'food delivery thief' on the YouTube channel 'Han Moon-cheol TV' is causing controversy. On the 9th, an online community 'Bobae Dream' posted a message titled 'My husband was accused of being a thief on Han Moon-cheol TV.' The author, Ms. A, identified herself as "the wife of a delivery driver who was accused of being a thief on Han Moon-cheol TV YouTube episodes 21228 and 21127." Ms. A pointed out that the content of the video titled 'A thief disguised as a delivery rider' broadcast on the YouTube channel Han Moon-cheol TV was not true.

Ms. A began, "My husband went to the delivery destination in Yangju Okjeong on February 5th, when there was heavy snowfall, for a delivery order from a franchise called 'Gogi OO' through a delivery app. After arriving, he found out that the delivery was canceled due to an 'app error' from the delivery company." She continued, "After calling the delivery app, they said the food would be remade and delivered again at the customer's request, so they asked us to dispose of the picked-up food ourselves." She added, "But this morning, my husband found out through an acquaintance that he was reported as a thief on Han Moon-cheol TV, which made him feel shocked and unfairly treated."

Believing that fact-checking should come first and that this might be a misunderstanding due to an error, Ms. A requested confirmation from the franchise owner. After that, her husband was deeply shocked. The owner said that the delivery company had already compensated for the discarded food, but for unknown reasons, the franchise owner, who was displeased with Ms. A's husband, the delivery driver, reported him to Han Moon-cheol TV.

Ms. A said, "When we visited this morning to ask about the video, the owner apologized." She explained, "However, my husband is already recognized by the narrow delivery rider community and franchise owners who have seen the YouTube video, and I confirmed from the video description that the content is scheduled to be aired on March 11th."

She continued, "The franchise owner said they would call the broadcasting company that day, but we don't know how the broadcaster will handle it." She expressed frustration, saying, "My husband did nothing wrong, and this delivery accident happened due to an app error from the delivery company. The franchise owner, who even received compensation for the discarded food, why on earth reported him as a thief? I don't understand at all. My husband, who is being unfairly insulted in the comments because of those videos, doesn't know where to appeal his innocence."

Ms. A also said, "We are not so poor that my husband would steal someone else's food. We own an apartment in Yangju, have a car, and each own a motorcycle scooter." She lamented, "Why would my husband steal food? If the owner's one-word apology is enough, then fine. But people who have already seen the video and acquaintances who recognize my husband now see him as a thief. How can that be compensated? I want a public apology from the owner who made a false report even though they know my husband did nothing wrong."

Later, Ms. A added in another post, "We are hurt from dodging countless stones thrown at us, and I wonder if we have to go through this trouble, but if we stay silent, we will just be a punching bag." She revealed, "A broadcasting company contacted us, and we are currently in talks." She also said, "People said my husband was a 'repeat offender' and 'didn't check' when watching the video of him picking up the food at the time. But my husband said the items were large and many, so he asked, 'Are these two correct?' and even confirmed the franchise owner nodded from the kitchen side. Watching the Han Moon-cheol TV video in slow motion, you can see my husband pointing at the items with his finger," presenting an enlarged photo as evidence. The video reported by Han Moon-cheol TV has since been deleted.
