Tuition or living expenses support for 5 semesters
Online application until the 29th...Document and interview screening

Taekwang Group Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation announced on the 11th that it will select 60 domestic undergraduate scholarship recipients for the 2024 academic year.

Any university student enrolled in the first semester of their sophomore year at a four-year university in Korea is eligible to apply. However, applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.5 scale).

The maximum number of recipients is 60, and selected scholars will receive scholarships covering tuition or living expenses for five semesters. The Ilju Foundation plans to select scholarship recipients evenly across all majors, including arts and physical education.

The application deadline is March 29. Applications can be submitted online through the Ilju Foundation website. The selection process includes document screening and interviews. Scholars are chosen based on a comprehensive evaluation of their motivation, capabilities, and vision.

Selected scholars can donate their talents by providing mentoring such as academic guidance, arts instruction, and career counseling to youths in ‘child and adolescent group homes’ and local children’s centers.

The mentoring program is Ilju Foundation’s flagship social contribution activity and has been ongoing for 13 years. Scholars can also participate in summer camps, small group activities, and reporter group activities.

Lee Woo-jin, Chairman of the Ilju Foundation, stated, “Nurturing and supporting talent is an essential task that must continue for the future of our society,” and added, “We will continue to strive to uphold the spirit of the foundation’s founder, who believed that ‘a tree must grow together with the forest.’”

Marking its 32nd year, the Ilju Foundation’s domestic undergraduate scholarship program began in 1991 and has supported 1,143 scholars through last year.

The Ilju Foundation was established by Lee Im-yong, the founder of Taekwang Group, who donated his private assets on July 19, 1990. In addition to scholarship and academic support programs for nurturing talent, the foundation has been carrying out public interest projects for 34 years to promote the development of cultural and artistic endeavors.
