The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has renovated the Pyeonghwa Nuri Camping Site (118 sites) located at Imjingak in Paju City and will reopen it on April 1.
Prior to the reopening, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced on the 11th that it will offer a free trial experience by accepting advance reservations through the Pyeonghwa Nuri Camping Site website (https://ggtour.or.kr/camping) for two days on the 13th and 14th of this month, and will announce the lottery results on the 15th.
The free trial operation will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of this month, targeting 130 general public teams, conducted twice for 1 night and 2 days each. The operation zones include glamping, caravans, tarp zones, auto camping, and general camping.
Participants in this trial event must complete a survey regarding satisfaction and areas for improvement after using the camping site facilities, and also post experience verification photos on their personal SNS.
A representative of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "Through this trial operation, we will prepare opportunities for pre-inspection and improvement regarding environmental cleaning, security, and safety according to occupancy rates," adding, "We expect to explore efficient operation methods for Pyeonghwa Nuri Camping Site and naturally collect camping site database materials through promotional filming targeting the general public."
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has switched to direct management of the Pyeonghwa Nuri Camping Site, which it had previously operated under consignment, to provide ‘more equitable travel opportunities’ and newly introduce DMZ camping travel products linking DMZ tourist sites and camping sites, aiming to contribute to stay-type tourism in northern Gyeonggi and regional economic revitalization.
