Violence Prevention Education (Sexual Harassment, Sexual Violence, Prostitution, Domestic Violence) for Residents
Dispatch of Professional Instructors to Requested Groups
Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it will conduct ‘Violence Prevention Education for Residents’ starting this month to improve gender equality awareness in the local community and create a safe social atmosphere.
The education targets institutions or organizations with five or more members within the area, such as welfare facilities, small businesses, small merchants, parent groups, and neighborhood functional organizations. Professional instructors specializing in violence prevention education registered with the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education will be dispatched to the applying institutions or organizations to provide customized education.
The education content includes recent issues such as stalking, digital sex crimes, prevention of sexual harassment, sexual violence, prostitution, domestic violence, and enhancement of gender awareness. The education is provided free of charge. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until November, and detailed education schedules are arranged through consultation with the educational institution after application.
To apply, fill out the education application form posted on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website’s notice board and send it to the designated email. However, the program operates on a first-come, first-served basis and may close early if the budget is exhausted.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “I hope residents will develop awareness of violence through programs conducted by the district office,” and added, “We will continue to strive to create a safe Eunpyeong through customized education.”
