Eco-friendly Cars: 800,000 KRW per Vehicle for First 100 Applicants... Separate Budget of 80 Million KRW Prepared
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 11th that it will promote a subsidy program for the purchase of eco-friendly electric and hydrogen vehicles to reduce fine dust and improve air quality.
In addition to national and city subsidies, the district has allocated 80 million KRW from its own budget to support a total of 100 eco-friendly vehicles with 800,000 KRW per vehicle.
Eligible applicants are residents, business owners, corporations, and foreigners aged 18 or older who have had an address in Dongjak-gu for more than 90 days as of the application date.
The eligible vehicle models are eco-friendly vehicles newly registered in 2024, including ▲64 types of electric passenger cars ▲40 types of electric cargo vehicles ▲9 types of electric vans ▲1 type of hydrogen electric passenger car, totaling 114 models, which can be confirmed through the Dongjak-gu Office website's notices and announcements.
The subsidy is paid differentially by vehicle type by combining Dongjak-gu's budget with national and city subsidies. For electric passenger cars, the maximum subsidy is 9.2 million KRW, and for electric cargo vehicles, it is up to 18.56 million KRW. Hydrogen electric passenger cars can receive a maximum subsidy of 33.3 million KRW, which includes 32.5 million KRW from national and city subsidies plus 800,000 KRW from the district budget.
Residents who wish to apply should prepare the purchase subsidy application form, vehicle registration certificate, and other documents and visit or mail them to the Environment Division of Dongjak-gu Office (74 Noryangjin-ro, 3rd floor of Yuhan Yanghaeng) by December 13. Applications will close once the budget is exhausted.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Environment Division of Dongjak-gu Office.
There are currently about 1,600 charging facilities operating in public parking lots and apartment complexes in the area, and the district plans to continuously install electric vehicle chargers to expand eco-friendly infrastructure.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “Through the electric and hydrogen vehicle purchase support project, we will activate the distribution of eco-friendly vehicles and contribute to creating a pleasant air environment,” adding, “We will continue to implement various policies to respond to the climate crisis and achieve carbon neutrality.”
