Recruiting 20 Households for Kakao Channel 'Guro-gu Visiting Pet Master' from 18th to 22nd This Month
One Phone Consultation, Two On-site Trainings, and Six Months of Online Monitoring Provided
Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that it is recruiting participants for the first half of the year for the "Visiting Pet Master" program.
Since 2022, Guro-gu has been operating the "Visiting Pet Master" program to lay the foundation for a proper companion animal culture by providing opportunities for correcting problematic behaviors in dogs and socialization training.
The program runs for six months for households that are new to dog ownership or have difficulty with adoption or behavioral training, and it is well-structured with pre-phone consultations, home visits, and online follow-up management.
After a phone consultation regarding basic information about the dog and its problematic behaviors, a professional trainer visits the household twice to assess the dog's living environment, analyze problematic behaviors, and provide customized training. Follow-up management for behavior correction continues for six months thereafter.
Applications are open from the 18th to the 22nd of this month and are available to any Guro-gu resident who has registered their dog. Priority is given to households with dangerous dogs, adopted abandoned dogs, or multiple dogs.
A total of 20 households will be recruited through the Kakao Channel "Guro-gu Visiting Pet Master," and the course fee is completely free.
A Guro-gu official stated, "As the number of companion animal households continues to increase, we are strengthening support for pet households through the Visiting Pet Master program," adding, "We will do our best to make Guro a place where pet owners and their dogs can coexist with neighbors."
