'Pamyo' Surpasses 8 Million Viewers in 18 Days Since Release

Similar Box Office Success to 'Beomjoedosi 2'

The film "Pamyoh," starring Choi Min-sik and Kim Go-eun, surpassed 8 million viewers in just 18 days. According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system, the cumulative audience reached 8,000,997 at 6:27 PM on the 10th. It is challenging the 10 million mark at a pace similar to "The Outlaws 2" (cumulative 12,693,302 viewers), which attracted the most viewers in 2022. The success is even more meaningful as it was achieved during the off-season. It is the first February release to reach 8 million viewers since "A Violent Prosecutor" (cumulative 9,707,158 viewers) in 2016.

"Pamyoh" is an occult film that deals with strange incidents occurring to a geomancer, a mortician, and shamans who relocate a grave for a large sum of money. Directed by Jang Jae-hyun, who helmed "The Priests" (2015) and "Svaha: The Sixth Finger" (2019), the film stars Choi Min-sik, Kim Go-eun, Yoo Hae-jin, and Lee Do-hyun.
