On the 10th, the Democratic Party of Korea nominated Park Seon-won, former 1st Deputy Director of the National Intelligence Service, for the Incheon Bupyeong-eul district, the constituency of Hong Young-pyo (4-term), a key figure of the pro-Moon Jae-in faction, who was excluded from the party nomination (cut-off) and subsequently left the party.

In the afternoon, Park Beom-gye, the party's Central Election Commission Chairperson, announced the results of the primaries for four strategic districts, including this decision, at the Yeouido party headquarters.

Former Deputy Director Park defeated proportional representative lawmaker Lee Dong-joo in the primary to become the candidate for Bupyeong-eul. In Gyeonggi Gwangmyeong, lawyer Kim Nam-hee, a recruited talent who participated in the 'Kim Eun-kyung Innovation Committee,' defeated Yang Ki-dae (first-term), a current lawmaker and member of the anti-Lee Jae-myung faction.

In Gyeonggi Yongin-gap, Lee Sang-sik, former Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, won a three-way primary against proportional representative lawmaker Kwon In-sook and former local committee head Lee Woo-il. In Chungbuk Cheongju Seowon, former Chungbuk Provincial Assembly member Lee Kwang-hee won the primary against incumbent lawmaker Lee Jang-seop (first-term).

For the Daegu-Gyeongbuk (TK) region proportional representation candidates, Cho Won-hee, Senior Vice Chairman of the party’s National Farmers and Fishermen Committee (male), and Im Mi-ae, Chairperson of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Party (female), were selected. Chairperson Im is the spouse of former lawmaker Kim Hyun-kwon, who served as a proportional representative for the Democratic Party in the 20th National Assembly.

The Democratic Party designated the TK region, traditionally a barren ground for the party, as a strategic area and separately received recommendations for proportional representation candidates from this region, ultimately selecting one male and one female candidate through a Daegu-Gyeongbuk party member vote.

Meanwhile, the results of the primary in Seoul Seodaemun-gap, where a three-way contest was held among former emergency committee member Kwon Ji-woong, lawyer Kim Gyu-hyun, and lawyer Kim Dong-a, were also scheduled to be announced on the same day. However, due to a system error, the voting period was extended until 3 p.m. on the 11th. Seodaemun-gap, where lawmaker Woo Sang-ho (4-term) did not run, was designated as a youth strategic district.
