"Residents Well-Acquainted with Local Characteristics for Effective Coastal Accident Prevention"
Buan Maritime Police Station (Chief Seo Young-gyo) announced on the 9th that it is recruiting 'Coastal Safety Keepers' to create local jobs and effectively prevent coastal accidents.
The selected Coastal Safety Keepers will be assigned in pairs to high-risk coastal accident areas such as Byeonsanbando Chaeseokgang and Haseom from May to October, for about six months. Individual uniforms and activity allowances will be provided. They will be responsible for patrol duties including coastal accident prevention and inspection of safety management facilities for 3 hours a day, 17 days per month (13 weekdays and 4 weekends).

Four people will be recruited, and the application period is 10 days from March 25 to April 4. Eligibility includes local residents who are well acquainted with the characteristics of the coastal waters and have experience and enthusiasm for coastal accident prevention activities. Selection will be made through document screening, physical fitness tests, and interviews.
Chief Seo Young-gyo said, "Last year, the Coastal Safety Keepers conducted a total of 224 safety guidance activities for 1,333 people and inspected 339 coastal safety facilities," adding, "This year, we will continue to create a safe sea together with the safety keepers."
