Guro-gu, Customized 'Infectious Disease Prevention Handwashing Education' for Children at Their Eye Level

For Children Aged 4 to 5 at Daycare Centers... Animation Viewing and Handwashing Experience Using Viewbox

Guro-gu, Customized 'Infectious Disease Prevention Handwashing Education' for Children at Their Eye Level

Guro-gu is promoting infectious disease prevention and handwashing education for children aged 4 to 5 in daycare centers, who are vulnerable to the spread of infectious diseases.

The education will be conducted by professional instructors who will visit 20 pre-registered daycare centers directly until March 22. The program includes watching animations tailored to the children's level and hands-on experience with proper handwashing.

The specific education content includes ▲ learning about infectious diseases ▲ methods to prevent infectious diseases ▲ proper handwashing techniques ▲ and handwashing experience education using a View-Box.

The View-Box used in this education is a device for hand hygiene inspection. When lotion containing a fluorescent substance is applied to the hands and placed on the inspection screen of the View-Box, the fluorescent substance appears white.

Through this education, the district expects to enhance children's understanding of infectious diseases and help form healthy habits for preventing infections.

A Guro-gu official said, “In a satisfaction survey conducted after the education in February, the overall response rate for ‘very satisfied’ was high, and both teachers and children responded positively. We hope that the infectious disease prevention handwashing education will not only improve children's personal hygiene management skills but also help prevent outbreaks of group infections.”
