LIG Nex1 Surpasses 2 Trillion KRW in Sales, Event at Lotte World
First Private Rental at Lotte World with Restricted General Admission
LIG Nex1 (079550), which surpassed annual sales of 2 trillion won for the first time since its establishment last year, will rent out the entire Lotte World on the 5th of next month to hold an event for its employees. This is the first time since Lotte World opened in 1989 that it has restricted general visitors for a private event rental.
LIG Nex1 announced that it will hold a 'Family Day' at Lotte World in Songpa-gu, Seoul on April 5th. As a result, Lotte World will restrict general customers from entering Lotte World Adventure on that day. Lotte World posted this notice on its website starting from the 29th of last month.
Since 2011, LIG Nex1 has held an annual Family Day event to boost employee morale and strengthen a sense of belonging. Especially last year, the company achieved record-high performance with sales of 2.3086 trillion won and operating profit of 186.4 billion won. Chairman Koo Bon-sang decided to rent out Lotte World to encourage the employees who were the driving force behind last year’s record performance.
The event will be attended by Chairman Koo, newly appointed President Shin Ik-hyun, and 4,300 employees working at nationwide business sites including Pangyo, Yongin, Daejeon, Gumi, and Gimcheon. LIG Nex1 limits the number of accompanying persons per employee to four including the employee, but allows all children from multi-child families to enter. LIG Nex1 expects up to about 10,000 people to gather at Lotte World.

A Lotte World official stated, "Due to the full rental event on April 5th, general visitors’ access to and use of Adventure will be restricted. To minimize inconvenience to general visitors, this has been announced on the website, and tickets for that day will not be available for purchase at various ticket outlets. We ask for the understanding of our guests." After news of the full rental at Lotte World spread, netizens speculated about the rental fee, saying it could reach 1 billion won. Regarding this, Lotte World only explained that the fee was determined based on the partnership between the two companies and did not disclose the exact rental fee.
LIG Nex1, a defense industry specialist, produces missiles, torpedoes, radars, and exports them, and recently has introduced integrated solutions for all drone-related fields.
