Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam Province is recruiting restaurants to participate in the 2024 Kitchen Hygiene Environment Improvement Project for general restaurants from the 11th to the 27th to enhance the hygiene standards of general restaurants.
This project targets 40 establishments that have been operated by the same business owner at the same location for more than two years as of the application date, and plans to support 80% of the kitchen facility improvement costs per establishment. The support includes painting and replacement of unsanitary walls, tiles, hood facilities (including ventilators), kitchen equipment, and utensils within the kitchen.
However, establishments that have received administrative sanctions for violating the Food Sanitation Act within the past year, those that have received support from the same or similar projects within the past five years, establishments that are temporarily closed, closed, or have outstanding debts, and those with violating buildings are excluded from the project.
Detailed information about the project can be found on the city hall website under the ‘Notices and Announcements’ board. Establishments wishing to participate can visit or mail the application form, project plan, and other required documents to the Health and Hygiene Division of Changwon City Hall.
Son Gil-kwang, head of the Health and Hygiene Division, said, “We hope this project will reduce the economic burden on business owners operating their establishments. We will do our best to maintain clean hygiene in restaurants so that citizens can enjoy their meals with peace of mind.”
