Mapo-gu to Create 'Symbol Mark' Together with Residents

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) announced that it will hold the "Mapo-gu Symbol Mark Design Contest" until March 13 to create a symbol mark that can represent and encapsulate Mapo at a glance.

This contest is being promoted to create a symbol mark in the form of an original and sophisticated image that reflects Mapo's unique regional characteristics and identity. It will be conducted as a citizen participation event so that residents can empathize and foster local pride.

Mapo-gu expects that the symbol mark created through the contest will be used sustainably to further enhance the urban brand value of Mapo.

The contest theme is an image that encapsulates Mapo's history, culture, and arts, and represents a progressive future vision that implies Mapo's values and vision. The format must be a logo (mark) type design.

Any citizen with fresh and creative ideas can freely apply regardless of age or residence, and participation is allowed both individually and as a group (team). However, only one entry per person (team) is allowed.

Completed entries should be submitted via email to the person in charge along with the application form and related documents, which can be found on the Mapo-gu Office website under notices and announcements.

Mapo-gu will collect the submissions and select one grand prize winner and four encouragement prize winners through preliminary screening by related departments and in-depth evaluation by experts. Winners will receive prize money and certificates. Results can be checked on the Mapo-gu Office website in March.

The final selected work will be utilized as the "Mapo-gu Symbol Mark" through a design service to enhance its completeness.
