Kenko Aerospace announced on the 7th that it will participate in the '2024 Drone Show' held at BEXCO in Busan and showcase its PAV (Personal Air Vehicle) aircraft.
Through participation in this exhibition, Kenko plans to unveil its in-house developed PAV aircraft and strengthen its global network. In particular, the PAV aircraft presented by Kenko has attracted attention by significantly improving flight time through the installation of a self-developed powerpack.
The powerpack is a hybrid powerpack combining a hydrogen fuel cell and an LTO (Lithium Titanate Oxide) battery, maximizing fuel cell performance while ensuring safety, enabling the PAV aircraft to secure a payload of up to 80kg. According to the company, the unveiled PAV aircraft will be used for AAM route demonstrations in Gyeongsangnam-do and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Grand Challenge demonstrations.
Now in its 8th year, the 2024 Drone Show is Asia's largest drone exhibition, with 228 companies from 10 countries participating. It is an event to share trends and the latest technological advancements in the drone and unmanned aerial vehicle industry and showcase technological capabilities, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of National Defense, and Busan Metropolitan City.
As the drone market, based on scalability from defense to civilian sectors, is rapidly growing, Kenko, which possesses outstanding technological capabilities in aircraft manufacturing, is expected to benefit. It is the only domestic company capable of handling airworthiness certification, type certification, and production certification from UAM and PAV mass production stages.
A company representative stated, "Through this exhibition, we are actively promoting Kenko's competitiveness by showcasing our in-house developed PAV aircraft as well as the PAV and UAM production systems we are building. Since discussions on new projects and contracts with global clients were held recently at the Singapore Airshow, we will also seek business opportunities related to contract manufacturing and mass production of manned and unmanned aircraft at this exhibition."
