Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do supports group accident insurance enrollment for workers at social welfare facilities in the region.
According to the county on the 7th, this group accident insurance covers medical expenses if social welfare facility workers suffer injury accidents during work or daily life.
It targets 699 workers at 39 facilities in the Jangseong area, with medical expenses coverage up to 30 million KRW.
The insurance premium is free. Of the annual 20,000 KRW premium, 10,000 KRW is covered by the government and 10,000 KRW by the workers themselves, but Jangseong-gun supports the workers' share with county funds.
The coverage period is one year from March 1. Even if insured under other policies, duplicate compensation can be received.
Previously, since 2016, the county has been promoting group accident insurance support for social welfare facility workers, the first of its kind at the county level in Jeollanam-do, and has continued to do so.
County Governor Kim Han-jong said, “We appreciate the hard work of those on the front lines of social welfare,” and added, “We will continue efforts to protect workers' rights and improve their treatment.”
