"Felt Like Stabbed by a Knife"... US Man Prepares Lawsuit After Scorpion Sting at 5-Star Hotel

"No Apology or Action from the Hotel Side"

A man staying at a luxury hotel in Las Vegas, USA, has come forward claiming he was stung by a scorpion in his hotel room and is planning to sue the hotel.

On the 6th (local time), KCAL, a CBS-affiliated local station, reported that Michael Pachi, who lives in Los Angeles (LA) County, claimed that on December 26 last year, while staying at the Venetian Palazzo Tower, a 5-star hotel in Las Vegas, he was stung by a scorpion while sleeping. He said he woke up in severe pain on the day of the incident and that his private area had been stung multiple times by the scorpion.

He recalled, "At first, I didn't know what it was," adding, "It felt like a sharp knife or glass was stabbing me." Michael explained that he went to the bathroom and found something stuck to his underwear, and after putting on his glasses and looking closely, he realized it was a scorpion.

He immediately informed the hotel staff, but he claimed the hotel neither apologized nor took any action. Later, Michael visited a hospital and received a medical certificate confirming that he had been stung by a scorpion. He is currently preparing legal action against the hotel with his lawyer.

Brian Bragg, the attorney representing Michael, said, "Imagine staying at a 5-star resort and finding a deadly scorpion in your bed," adding, "This experience has left him with various medical and psychological issues." He further stated, "We hope he receives proper guest treatment at this hotel, where he has stayed multiple times before."

As the controversy grew, the hotel issued a statement saying, "We cannot comment on this incident to protect the customer's privacy," and added, "The resort has regulations regarding all incidents, and we can confirm that they were followed in this case as well."
