Busan Gijang-gun, Recruiting Students for the 1st Lifelong Learning Course at the Community Learning Center

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) will recruit students for the ‘2024 1st Semester Gijang-gun Citizen University and Gijang-gun Citizen Language School’ for two days from the 11th to the 12th.

The Gijang-gun Citizen University operates 34 courses divided into general education, humanities, and 5060 middle-aged courses.


▲Home Management Expert Course ▲Popular Songwriting and Composition Using AI ▲Humanities Travelogue for Gijang Residents, along with various hobby, culture, humanities, and certification courses, and tailored lifelong learning courses for the 5060 middle-aged group such as ▲Honorary Gijang Promotion Team Starting with ChatGPT ▲I am also a Smartphone Photographer.


The Gijang-gun Citizen Language School offers 43 programs including language courses at various levels in English, Japanese, Chinese, and mobile video (phone) classes.


To further enhance learners’ interest, the county has opened special courses such as ▲‘Discovery Gijang’ to improve English writing skills ▲‘Beginner Travel Japanese’ to learn languages needed for travel, and especially newly established the ‘English First Step Class’ to allow beginners to easily participate.


The 1st semester lifelong learning program runs for a total of 10 weeks from March 25 to June 10, and anyone aged 20 or older who is a Gijang-gun resident or works in Gijang-gun can apply. However, for the 5060 middle-aged course of Gijang-gun Citizen University, applicants must have been born on or before December 31, 1973.


Applications will be accepted for two days from March 11 to 12, and those wishing to enroll should apply through the Gijang-gun Lifelong Learning website.


Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, “We have prepared various courses to expand lifelong education opportunities for residents and to let them enjoy the joy of learning,” and added, “We hope for the active interest and participation of the residents.”
