A Safe Investment Guide for 'Jurini' Beginners

Professor Park Won-joo of Seokyeong University Publishes 'Real Investment, Not Investment by Guesswork'

Professor Park Won-joo of the Department of Financial Information Engineering at Seokyeong University, known as a ‘financial education expert,’ has published a basic liberal arts book for those dreaming of risk-reducing investments titled “Not Investing by Guesswork but Real Investing.”

This book provides detailed guidance on how beginners can minimize the risk of principal loss through theory and real investment cases. It serves as both a foundational and practical guide to help readers discern the wheat from the chaff among unverified rumors and develop the judgment to distinguish between correct and incorrect investments.

The author, Professor Park Won-joo, is recognized in the industry as an ‘investment instructor for ordinary citizens’ who combines both theory and practice. After earning a Ph.D. in Consumer Finance from Ewha Womans University, he joined Seokyeong University as a professor in the Department of Financial Information Engineering. He is an expert who has personally worked as a financial planner for many years, directly counseling ordinary people facing investment concerns. He has researched and developed various educational content, including basics of financial management, financial planning for retirement, and investment management for steady asset growth.

This book is a comprehensive ‘essential guide’ that consolidates Professor Park’s years of counseling, education, and research. It covers necessary content for beginners of all generations who have just entered the investment market or want to form the right attitude and habits toward investing. It includes material for teenagers who want to establish a solid financial concept early on, as well as for young adults and seniors who want to invest their retirement funds safely.

The book is divided into two main parts: one for acquiring the theory needed for investing and the other for experiencing practical investment. The theory part covers basic investment concepts, risks, and returns, as well as how to read economic indicators. The practical part provides detailed explanations of financial investment products such as bonds, stocks, funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), along with how to allocate assets and build portfolios tailored to one’s situation, and customized investment methods for retirement preparation.

Professor Park stated, “Investment inevitably involves risk, but until now, there has been no safety education for investing,” adding, “Just like traffic and fire safety education, safety education that teaches the basics to prevent losing valuable assets is necessary.” He continued, “I wrote this book to help those who have lost valuable assets due to sensational information,” and added, “I hope it becomes a reliable safety net that can be referred to before, during, and after investing.”
