The Ulleung-gun Volunteer Center in Gyeongbuk conducted a thorough cleaning volunteer service on the 5th at the home of an elderly person living alone in a vulnerable group who was experiencing difficulties in daily life due to deteriorating health.

Ulleung-gun Volunteer Center, Volunteer Activities On the 5th, the Ulleung-gun Volunteer Center conducted a major cleaning volunteer service at the homes of elderly single-person households in vulnerable groups.

Due to the trash and unnecessary items left unattended inside the house, there was hardly any space to step, and the severe odor not only affected the appearance but also had a negative impact on the elderly person's health. With the active cooperation of the volunteers, the rooms, veranda, bathroom, kitchen, and refrigerator were all cleaned and organized to create a pleasant environment.

The Volunteer Center, in cooperation with local governments, continues to carry out volunteer activities such as organizing and deep cleaning homes of vulnerable groups, replacing wallpaper and flooring, home repairs and painting, electrical safety inspections, and replacing outdated electrical equipment to create a safe and hygienic living environment and improve quality of life.

Kim Sook-hee, head of the county volunteer center, said, “We will continue to promote volunteer activities to improve the living environment of vulnerable groups with mobility difficulties, and will support them to live in a pleasant environment through ongoing monitoring. We will also contribute to creating a happy Ulleung by solving community problems together.”

In response, Nam Han-kwon, the county governor, said, “I thank the volunteers who selflessly dedicate themselves to local affairs without expecting anything in return. I hope that the spirit of sharing social responsibility without seeking rewards and caring for others will spread widely throughout the community and contribute to regional development.”
