Construction site of public parking lot on the 4th... "Thorough safety and responsible construction" urged... On the 5th, Achasan Donghaeng Forest Trail and Cheongchun Tteulak creation site... District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, "We will ensure it becomes a space everyone can comfortably enjoy."
“The answer lies on the site!” Actively practicing proactive administration, Kim Kyung-ho, the mayor of Gwangjin District Office, inspected construction sites that are either underway or completed on the 4th and 5th of last month.
First, on the 4th, he visited the construction site of the “Jayang 4-dong Traditional Market Public Parking Lot.”
Since 2019, the district has been building a public parking lot underground on the land donated from the housing reconstruction maintenance project area. This aims to revitalize the traditional market and alleviate parking difficulties by opening the parking lot to local residents at night.
The public parking lot is located around Jayang-dong 43-44. It is planned to have three underground floors with a total floor area of 7,268.91㎡ and 170 parking spaces, with completion targeted by December this year.
On the 5th, he headed to the sites of “Achasan Donghaeng Forest Trail” and “Cheongchun Tteurak,” which were created last year.
The “Achasan Donghaeng Forest Trail,” extended to a total length of 1,380m from the existing trail, has been transformed into a gently sloping forest path so that even those with limited mobility can comfortably enjoy forest bathing and strolls.
Mayor Kim checked the safety of the wooden floor walking path and toured the specialized gardens?the Pine Nut Garden, Acorn Garden, and Maple Garden?discussing with the responsible department about creating spaces where people can sit together and rest comfortably.
He then visited “Cheongchun Tteurak” in Hwayang-dong. Along the route connecting Konkuk University Station and Konkuk University’s Food Street, “Cheongchun Tteurak” allows free street performances. He freely discussed with officials the appropriateness of installing a design wall and intelligent pillars (smart poles), as well as ways to promote usage.
At the public parking lot site undergoing earth retaining work, Mayor Kim Kyung-ho emphasized, “Safety is the most important above all. Please do your utmost to prevent safety accidents, and after the construction is completed, approach your duties with a strong sense of responsibility to ensure no defects occur.”
He also said, “Please continue to manage the completed Achasan Donghaeng Forest Trail and Cheongchun Tteurak spaces so that residents can comfortably enjoy them, and take another look at safety aspects.”
