Haenam-gun Supports Elementary School Enrollment Celebration Fund

30,000 KRW Worth Haenam Love Gift Certificates Provided Per Person

Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myunghyeon Kwan) is providing enrollment congratulatory money for elementary school entrants.

According to the county on the 6th, the recipients are new students entering elementary school this year, and each will receive 300,000 KRW in Haenam Love Gift Certificates.

The concentrated application period is from the 20th to the 29th of this month, and applications can be submitted in person at the local town or township office of the applicant's address. If the application period is missed, applications can be submitted directly by visiting the Haenam-gun Education Foundation.

Applicants must be students who have their address in Haenam-gun as of the enrollment date and are entering elementary school for the first time. The applicant must be the legal guardian or the person who is actually raising the student. Students who enrolled outside Haenam-gun and then transferred to an elementary school within the county are excluded from support.

The elementary school enrollment congratulatory money support is promoted to reduce the educational expenses burden on families of elementary school entrants, strengthen the public nature of local education, and enhance educational welfare. Last year, the Haenam-gun Education Foundation supported 310 students with enrollment congratulatory money as its first project.

Established in July last year, the Haenam-gun Education Foundation is an educational support organization involving the public, private, and academic sectors, and has been promoting systematic and comprehensive educational support for children, youth, and residents through △ establishing public-private-academic educational governance △ collaborative projects with the education office and local educational institutions △ various scholarship programs △ elementary, middle, and high school educational support projects △ lifelong education △ and operating literacy schools.

This year, starting with the global talent development video English support project in March, the foundation plans to operate △ overseas cultural exploration support projects for middle school students in small schools in townships △ overseas youth intercultural exchange △ scholarships for elementary, middle, and high school students, university students, out-of-school youth, and local talents △ and the Ministry of Education-designated literacy school recognizing elementary academic ability, ‘Kkumbobae School’.
