Goheung Return-to-Farm and Rural Migration, Try Living for 3 Months Before Deciding

Recruitment for Participants in the Essential Pre-Farming Course 'Living in Jeonnam'

Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that Sanghacho Village in Geumsan-myeon and Seonjeong Village in Namyang-myeon, selected for this year's 'Living in Jeonnam' project, will begin full-scale operation of rural experience programs.

The 'Living in Jeonnam' project supports urban residents who wish to return to farming, fishing, or rural living by residing in rural areas, understanding rural life and culture, and successfully settling in rural communities through interaction with local residents.

Sanghacho Village and Seonjeong Village will recruit applicants until the end of March and start the first phase of the program in April. Interested urban residents can check local conditions, accommodation facilities by village, and program details through 'Greendaero' and apply to the village of their choice.

A Goheung-gun official stated, "Last year, 19 participants joined the 'Living in Jeonnam' program in Geumsan Sanghacho Village and showed high satisfaction, with 9 actually moving to Goheung. We expect many prospective returnees to farming and rural living to experience and settle in Goheung this year as well."

Meanwhile, Goheung-gun is accepting applications for the Agricultural and Fishery Learning Center trainees until March 8. The '2024 Return to Farming, Fishing, and Rural Living Agricultural and Fishery Learning Center' matches 10 trainees per leading farm or fishery to provide on-site education on crop cultivation techniques and shrimp farming know-how.
