Sancheong-gun, Early Achievement of Carbon Neutrality ... Support for Electric Vehicle Subsidies

238 Passenger and Cargo Vehicles

Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it is providing subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles. This project is being promoted to achieve early carbon neutrality by creating a clean air environment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The support scale covers 238 vehicles, including electric passenger cars, electric vans, and electric cargo vehicles. Eligible applicants are individuals aged 18 or older who have resided in Sancheong-gun for more than three months as of the application date, and corporations with business sites within the region.

In particular, additional support is provided for those below the lower-income bracket, small business owners (cargo), and electric taxi purchasers. However, applicants should check beforehand as purchasing a vehicle may disqualify them from receiving basic pensions, disability pensions, and other benefits.

Applications can be made at car dealerships, and subsidies are paid in the order of vehicle delivery when dealerships submit applications through the Integrated Zero-Emission Vehicle Portal. The subsidy amount varies depending on the vehicle type, and details on vehicle types and amounts can be found on the Integrated Zero-Emission Vehicle Portal.

Previously, Sancheong-gun distributed 601 electric vehicles (317 passenger cars, 243 cargo vehicles, and 41 two-wheelers) from 2018 through last year.

A Sancheong-gun official stated, “We encourage active applications and participation in this project, which is effective in reducing fine dust and greenhouse gases,” adding, “We will continue to contribute to carbon neutrality through the distribution of zero-emission electric vehicles and strive to expand charging station infrastructure to enhance convenience for electric vehicle users.”
