Minjoo, Nominates Former Jung-gu Mayor Park Yong-gap in Strategic Area Daejeon Jung-gu

Seodaemun Gap, Youth 5-Person Primary Election Held

The Democratic Party of Korea has confirmed former Daejeon Jung-gu Mayor Park Yong-gap as its candidate for the Daejeon Jung-gu constituency in the general election.


The party's Central Election Commission announced the results of the nomination primary on the 5th at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.


In Daejeon Jung-gu, incumbent lawmaker Hwang Un-ha decided not to run, leading to a primary contest between former Jung-gu Mayor Park and Chungnam National University Hospital's standing auditor Jeong Hyun-tae. Park defeated Jeong in the primary, securing the nomination.


Meanwhile, in Seoul Seodaemun-gap, designated as a 'Youth Strategy Special Zone' following the announcement that four-term lawmaker Woo Sang-ho would not run, five candidates?Kwon Ji-ung, Kim Gyu-hyun, Kim Dong-a, Seong Chi-hoon, and Jeon Su-mi?will compete. The Democratic Party will narrow down the candidates to three through a public audition open to the public at 2 p.m. on the 7th, and then select the final candidate for Seodaemun-gap through a primary on the 9th and 10th.
