Asiana Airlines Adds 4 More B747 Cargo Planes to Replace Aging Fleet...

Asiana Airlines announced on the 5th that it plans to acquire four additional B747-400F cargo aircraft. Among them, two will be newly purchased, and the remaining two will be leased.

According to the announcement, Asiana Airlines will spend 72.49045 billion KRW to purchase two B747-400F aircraft. The other two will be leased for 49 million USD (approximately 65.4 billion KRW). The lease contract period is six years, from 2024 to 2030.


Asiana Airlines plans to dispose of three aging aircraft out of the 11 cargo planes currently in operation to maintain the existing business scale.


The company explained the purpose of introducing new aircraft as "enhancing punctuality and safety by replacing aging cargo aircraft."
