Kakao is changing Daum CIC (Company-In-Company) to Content CIC.
On the 5th, Kakao announced that it will change Daum CIC to Content CIC and strengthen content services such as short-form, Cafe, Story, and News.
The head of Content CIC will be Yang Ju-il, head of the KakaoTalk division. Kakao described Yang Ju-il as having "a high understanding of IT services through experience working at various IT companies."
Last May, Kakao separated the Daum business division into a CIC to focus more on the value of Daum services as a content distribution platform and to achieve results. Since then, it has been strengthening service competitiveness around core businesses such as the Brunch Story and Tistory creator sponsorship models and the launch of the open community 'Table.'
Along with this, Kakao has appointed Kang Hyung-seok, head of the design division, as Chief Creative Officer (CCO).
