Through the 'Neulbom·Creativity·Family Center,' Sookmyung Women’s University plans to develop and apply customized cultural arts education programs targeting first-grade elementary students, the starting age for Neulbom School. Last month, Sookmyung Women’s University was selected for the cultural arts education operation support project related to Neulbom School, conducted by the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service. The project involves master's students majoring in Children’s Arts Education and professors and researchers in the doctoral cooperative program of the Department of Cultural Arts Education.
In addition, the 'Neulbom·Creativity·Family Center' plans to provide various support for neighbors, teachers, caregivers, and guardians based on the infrastructure that Sookmyung Women’s University has. The university stated, “By sequentially introducing the developed programs by grade, we can provide quality care and education to dual-income families and expect to contribute to the increase in birth rates,” and set the center’s slogan as ‘Neulbom School with Warm Care.’ This reflects the intention to gently and warmly lead elementary education through the interaction between Sookmyung Women’s University’s slogan, ‘The Soft Power That Changes the World,’ and the center.
Based on this project, the Neulbom·Creativity·Family Center plans to develop and apply customized cultural arts education programs targeting first-grade elementary students, the starting age for Neulbom School. At the opening ceremony, Jang Yoon-geum, president of Sookmyung Women’s University, said, “We are pleased that Sookmyung Women’s University can take charge of child care and education operation through cultural arts education,” and added, “We will actively support the purpose of Neulbom School to spread cultural arts education in our society and support parents’ work-family balance.”
