Four Models Certified for Launch in the US Market

The IoT security rating by global certification company UL Solutions is divided into five levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. The highest grade, Diamond, can only be obtained by passing rigorous tests in areas such as ▲malicious software tampering detection ▲prevention of unauthorized access attempts ▲user data anonymization.

The Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub Plus, scheduled for release in the first half of the year, features enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT technologies such as 'AI Vision Inside.' Through this security evaluation, its strong security performance protecting personal information was confirmed.

This product automatically captures moments of ingredient intake and output through the 'AI Vision Inside' function, where an internal refrigerator camera recognizes ingredient movements and creates a food list. On the right door of the refrigerator, there is a 32-inch Full HD touchscreen that supports video services such as YouTube. When a mobile phone is placed on the screen, users can continue watching videos they were viewing on their phone.

Samsung Electronics received this UL Solutions verification for a total of four Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub Plus models launched in the U.S. market. In the future, the company plans to expand verification acquisition to various product lines, including AI-powered robot vacuum cleaners.

Yoo Mi-young, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' DA Division, said, "Samsung Electronics is developing products with innovative AI technology application as well as prioritizing consumer security when using these products," adding, "We will continue to thoroughly manage security safety so that various AI home appliances can be used with confidence."

Since launching the Family Hub refrigerator, the first in the industry to incorporate IoT technology in 2016, Samsung Electronics has introduced innovative services with various AI functions every year. It has received the CES Innovation Award, hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), for eight consecutive years.
