Big Size Triangle Kimbap Equivalent to 4 Pieces

A unique large-sized product trend is sweeping the convenience store industry. Following the jumbo ramen that combines the equivalent of 8 packs of ramen, the 'Large King' triangular kimbap, which is equivalent to 4 big-sized triangular kimbaps, has been released.
CU, a convenience store operated by BGF Retail, announced on the 5th that it will launch the 'Super Large King Triangular Kimbap,' a super-large triangular kimbap that combines 4 big-sized triangular kimbaps in response to the demand for large-capacity products amid high inflation.
The Super Large King Triangular Kimbap (5,900 KRW) is a unique product that places four existing big-sized triangular kimbaps side by side in one large triangular container, forming a super-large triangular kimbap. It is designed to be large enough to share with family and friends during times of frequent outings and gatherings, such as the start of the university semester in March and spring picnics.
The triangular kimbap comes in various flavors including ▲Kimchi Stir-fried Tuna Mayo ▲Dongwon Spicy Tuna ▲Crab Tuna Mayo ▲Soy Sauce Bulgogi, allowing for diverse enjoyment. It is served with two packs of lunchbox seaweed and disposable plastic gloves so customers can directly wrap the kimbap with seaweed to make the Japanese-style rice ball 'Onigiri' or crumble the seaweed as a topping, depending on taste and preference.
CU has continuously introduced large-capacity products for fun and cost-effectiveness. In July last year, CU launched the 1kg extra-large snack 'Kkui Podae.' This oven-roasted fish jerky snack is packaged in a sack-shaped bag measuring approximately 1.1 meters in combined width and length. The product sold 2,000 units within a week of release and has surpassed 50,000 units in cumulative sales to date.
Among CU’s ultra-low-price private brand (PB) 'Deuktem' series, the Cheese Hot Bar Deuktem is also very popular as a large-capacity product weighing about twice as much as similar products at 180g. The three types of Hot Bar Deuktem, including the Cheese Hot Bar, sold a total of 7.4 million units last year alone, ranking first in sales among CU’s PB products.
Earlier, GS25, a convenience store operated by GS Retail, also launched jumbo ramen series 'Jumbo Dosirak Ramen' and 'Gonggan Chunjaengban Jjamjjamyeon' in May and November last year, respectively. These products are GS25’s super-large PB cup noodle products that are more than 8 times larger than regular cup noodles. The two jumbo ramen products gained popularity on social media and surpassed 2 million units in cumulative sales by the end of last year.
