Mayor Park Gang-su: "Supporting Job Seekers' Challenges and Dreams... Committed to Discovering Quality Jobs"
The ‘Mapo Job Center’ on the first floor of Mapo District Office is receiving positive responses from job seekers.
Last year, Mapo District (Mayor Park Gang-su) opened the Mapo Job Center on the first floor of the district office building to support job seekers who are elderly or disabled and have difficulty moving, and began actively discovering job opportunities.
The Mapo Job Center features partitions at each counter to allow for individual job matching consultations, and is equipped with a meeting and counseling room, a ‘Job Notice Board’, PCs, and multifunction printers to enhance user convenience.
Visitor Kim Seong-guk (alias, 38) said, “It was great to be able to check not only private sector job information but also district office job information here, and the job counselors were very kind in assisting me.”
Last year, the Mapo Job Center registered over 3,700 job seeker and employer entries and conducted more than 28,000 job consultations and introductions, resulting in 816 successful employments.
Additionally, at the ‘2023 Hongdae Youth Job Festa’ and the ‘Mapo Naru Salted Shrimp Festival’, the ‘Visiting Mapo Job Center’ was held, providing over 120 consultations and promotional activities.
This year, Mapo District plans to intensify customized employment counseling for all age groups and broaden the discovery of hiring companies.
Using a total of seven professionals and assistants qualified as job counselors, they will engage in more proactive employment counseling and introductions.
They will also strengthen the operation of the Visiting Mapo Job Center to connect youth registered at Mapo Youth Naru and Seoul Youth Center with local companies, and focus on providing job information through related organizations located in Sangam DMC, such as the Mapo Employment Welfare Support Center and the DMC Industry-Academia Promotion Foundation.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, “We support all job seekers and employers with passion and determination, and hope that through the Mapo Job Center, they can achieve their dreams and take on new challenges. Mapo District will continue to do its best to create and support a variety of high-quality jobs.”
