LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam, Recruiting Trainees for the First Half of the Year
Do you know about ‘rehabilitation horseback riding’?
Korea Racing Authority LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam (Head Um Young-seok) is recruiting rehabilitation horseback riding trainees for children and adolescents with disabilities from 3 PM on the 14th to 3 PM on the 15th.
Rehabilitation horseback riding is a representative social contribution project of the Korea Racing Authority, which is a rehabilitation therapy method where people with physical and mental disabilities engage in activities with horses to promote recovery.
Because the movement on horseback is quite similar to walking on flat ground, it is an exercise that can provide physical exercise effects similar to walking. Additionally, understanding the horse’s nonverbal behaviors and bonding with the horse helps with psychological stability.
The recruitment target for rehabilitation horseback riding is holders of disability registration cards (welfare cards) aged 6 to 18 years old (height under 180cm, weight under 70kg). Applicants should prepare documents such as a medical opinion stating that there are no issues with participating in rehabilitation horseback riding and submit them via email during the application period.
To provide opportunities to many children, both first and second priority selection criteria and first-come, first-served registration will be applied. The first priority is new applicants with no prior training history, and the second priority is applicants who previously participated but with fewer training sessions. The announcement of selected trainees will be posted on the horse industry comprehensive portal ‘Hospia’ website at 6 PM on the 15th.
This training will be conducted in two phases. The first phase is from the end of March to the end of April, and the second phase is from the end of May to the end of June, with training held once a week on weekends for six weeks.
The training program mainly focuses on horse bonding and physical exercise programs using horseback riding, considering safety. Each class consists of two trainees, a rehabilitation horseback riding coach, and a training assistant, with one horse assigned per trainee.
Classes will be held at LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam Riding Land, and the training fee is free. For more details about rehabilitation horseback riding training, please check the Hospia website or contact the Korea Racing Authority Rehabilitation Healing Riding Center Busan branch.
