Polaris Office announced on the 4th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Saltlux to collaborate in the field of generative AI-based LLM (Large Language Model). The signing ceremony held at Saltlux headquarters was attended by key officials from both companies, including Ji Jun-kyung, CEO of Polaris Office, and Lee Kyung-il, CEO of Saltlux.
Through this MOU, the two companies will explore various cooperation methods in the sales and development of generative AI services. In particular, Saltlux’s generative AI-based LLM model, ‘Lucia GPT,’ will be utilized across Polaris Office’s software (SW) and services to implement services similar to Microsoft (MS) ‘Copilot.’ The strategy is to quickly capture the domestic B2B (business-to-business) and B2G (business-to-government) markets by building generative AI-based software and to strengthen competitiveness in the global market.
Polaris Office is a cloud-based office software that can be linked with mobile, PC, and recently Vision Pro. The ‘Polaris Office AI,’ launched last September, applies the latest AI technologies such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Naver’s HyperCLOVA X, and Stability AI’s Stable Diffusion to enhance work productivity. It also enables AI-powered writing, sentence refinement, image generation, and editing through a generative AI model-based Q&A function.
Additionally, Polaris Office operates its business based on its unique document solutions by providing enterprise solutions such as SDK (Software Development Kit) and the document collaboration solution ‘Polaris Docs’ to global companies, leading domestic companies, and government-related institutions.
Saltlux is a solution specialist company based on AI big data, offering various services including chatbots, large-scale language model construction, voice recognition, and metahuman production. Lucia GPT, unveiled last September, is an LLM model trained on over approximately 1TB of Korean language corpus. Saltlux is engaged in government projects related to AI data construction and various public institution projects across different fields.
Ji Jun-kyung, CEO of Polaris Office, said, “We expect to create various synergies by combining the technologies and know-how accumulated by both companies in their respective fields,” adding, “We will strive to secure a leading position in various markets such as B2C (business-to-consumer), B2B, and B2G with the goal of developing a Korean-style ‘Copilot.’”
