The National Institute for Korean Medicine Development (President Chung Changhyun) announced on March 4 that Paekyore, Senior Researcher at the Clinical Research Support Division of the Korean Medicine Innovative Technology Development Project Group, recently received the Grand Prize at the "R&D Standard Research Achievement Case Contest" organized by the Korean Standards Association.
This contest was open to researchers involved in national R&D, including those from companies, research institutes, associations and organizations, and universities. A variety of essays were submitted, featuring cases of achievements linked to standards in the R&D process, as well as experiences highlighting the necessity of standardization.
Paekyore, Senior Researcher, was awarded the Grand Prize for "A Case of Standardization of Clinical Research Data in Korean Medicine," which addressed the standardization of clinical research data within the Korean Medicine Innovative Technology Development Project. The case focused on establishing a virtuous data ecosystem based on international demands for the use of publicly supported research data and experiences from clinical research in Korean medicine.
The Korean Medicine Innovative Technology Development Project Group is striving to ensure that clinical research data generated through R&D is effectively utilized and that data-driven research becomes more widespread. To this end, the group manages the "Clinical Research Data Standardization Guidelines" linked to international standards, supports public electronic case report forms (eCRF), and oversees research data management plans and compliance reports for these guidelines.
Paekyore, Senior Researcher, stated, "By establishing an operational system for the dissemination and utilization of data for the public good, we will be able to continuously develop the foundation for standardization in the field of Korean medicine."
