'Exhumation' Already 6 Million... Faster Than 'The Outlaws'

'Pamyoh,' starring Choi Min-sik and Kim Go-eun, has taken the theaters by storm. According to the Korea Film Council's integrated box office data, over the past weekend (June 1-3), the film attracted 2,335,941 viewers across 2,367 screens (29,307 showings). This is 376,250 (18.9%) more than the last weekend of the previous month (May 23-25), maintaining its position at the top of the box office. The seat occupancy rate was an impressive 55.4%. With the highest revenue share of 55.4%, the cumulative audience reached 6,033,203. The speed of its success (based on reaching 6 million viewers) is one week faster than last year's top hit, 'Seoul Spring' (11,854,779 viewers). It also reached the 6 million milestone one day earlier than 'Crime City 2' (12,693,302 viewers), which attracted the most viewers in 2022.

'Dune: Part 2,' starring Timoth?e Chalamet and Zendaya Coleman, drew 552,287 viewers from 1,190 screens (11,064 showings) during the same period. With a seat occupancy rate of 33.0% and a revenue share of 18.8%, it secured second place. The cumulative audience stands at 820,800. Another Chalamet-led film, 'Wonka,' attracted 173,266 viewers from 695 screens (3,721 showings). This marks a 106,168 (38.0%) decrease compared to the last weekend of the previous month, dropping it to third place. Its cumulative audience is 3,297,974.

Following these were 'Bread Barber Shop: Celeb in Bakery Town' (86,081 viewers; cumulative 104,963), 'The Founding War' (59,951 viewers; cumulative 1,092,723), 'I Am Tyranno' (33,962 viewers; cumulative 35,735), 'Demon Slayer: Miracle of the Bonds and Joint Strengthening Training' (31,241 viewers; cumulative 458,112), and 'Picnic' (8,949 viewers; cumulative 323,327).
