Warranty Repairs Available Even After Manufacturer's Free Warranty Ends
Focus on 'Rocket Installation' Products Installed by Professional Technicians

When purchasing large home appliances and other 'Rocket Installation' products on Coupang, customers can now receive after-sales service (AS) warranty coverage for up to 5 years.
Coupang announced on the 4th that it has expanded Coupang Safe Care, which was previously only available for mobile phones and small home appliances, to include large home appliances with the Rocket Installation badge, such as TVs and refrigerators.

Coupang Safe Care is an insurance that allows customers to receive warranty repairs for a certain period even after the manufacturer's free warranty period ends. Typically, the manufacturer's free warranty period is 1 to 2 years, but if customers purchase home appliances and subscribe to Coupang Safe Care, they can extend the warranty repair period, including the manufacturer's warranty, from 3 to 5 years. During the extended warranty period, warranty repair services for damages are provided without limit on the number of times, within the total compensation limit.
The product categories now eligible for Coupang Safe Care include TVs, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, kimchi refrigerators, air conditioners, massage chairs, and dishwashers, focusing on Rocket Installation products where professional technicians provide one-stop delivery and installation services. Products from well-known brands such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, TCL, Haier, Nuhas, Midea, and Xiaomi are also eligible.
There are a total of 22 insurance plans available, based on warranty periods (3 years, 5 years) and compensation limits (100,000 KRW to 5,000,000 KRW). Four appropriate plans are recommended according to the product price, and customers can choose one to subscribe to.
The insurance premium is about 1-2% of the compensation limit and is paid only once at the time of subscription. The 'Free Warranty 100' (compensation limit of 1,000,000 KRW) plan costs 9,500 KRW for a 3-year warranty period and 13,500 KRW for a 5-year warranty period. The 'Free Warranty 200' (compensation limit of 2,000,000 KRW) plan costs 19,000 KRW for 3 years and 27,000 KRW for 5 years.
Lee Byung-hee, head of Coupang's retail division, said, "We are pleased that Coupang Safe Care is now available for Rocket Installation products including large home appliances, allowing customers to purchase quality products with greater confidence. We plan to continuously expand the range of products eligible for extended warranty insurance in the future."
