ResearchAlum analyzed on the 4th that the emergence of super-large artificial intelligence (AI) is both an opportunity and a threat, noting that major countries around the world are announcing cybersecurity strategies and emphasizing the investment and necessity of cybersecurity.
Choi Seonghwan, a researcher at ResearchAlum, predicted, "The global cybersecurity market size will grow from $115.8 billion in 2022 to $266 billion in 2029, with an average annual growth rate of 13.4%."
He continued, "Recently, services utilizing AI and machine learning have become new targets for cyber hacking," and explained, "The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) classifies cyber hacking threats arising from AI into four types: evasion, poisoning, abuse, and privacy." He added, "Privacy attacks attempt to extract and misuse the most sensitive information," and emphasized, "Since malicious code can be injected into AI to steal data and contaminate supply chains, a high level of security is required."
Researcher Choi stated, "In the security industry, quantum cryptography is called a dream technology because information changes to a quantum state during hacking attempts, making replication impossible," and analyzed, "Dream Security's technology in this area is the most advanced domestically." He also noted, "Last November, the National Intelligence Service obtained security verification for the quantum key management system (QKMS) product 'MagicQKM,' one of the three core devices for quantum cryptographic communication," emphasizing, "With the advent of quantum security services, Dream Security is expected to benefit."
Researcher Choi also explained, "Since the emergence of generative AI technology, security threats such as malware and deepfakes have been increasing day by day," and stated, "Technologies such as full database encryption and data masking are needed in addition to existing field-level encryption." He introduced, "K-Sign was selected in 2022 as the project operator for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's ‘Blockchain-based Public MyData Distribution Trust Infrastructure’ project," and added, "They have secured technologies for cryptographic key management, Internet of Things (IoT) device authentication, and AI-based security threat detection and response through blockchain technology."
Furthermore, he said, "Igloo launched the country's first AI security monitoring solution ‘SPiDERTMAIEdition’ in 2019 and is providing services to numerous institutions and companies," noting, "By equipping security AI, false positive rates have decreased and repetitive work time has been reduced." He emphasized, "They have released AiR, which can be linked with ChatGPT," describing it as "a service that explains AI model bases and prediction results in natural language form."
