Major Cleanup Across Eunpyeong-gu ... Participation from Public Officials, Public Institutions, and Related Organizations
Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) will conduct a joint spring cleaning campaign called the ‘Spring Welcome Eunpyeong-gu Joint Environmental Maintenance Cleanup’ involving public officials, public institutions, and other related organizations to clean off the accumulated grime from the winter season.
The ‘Spring Welcome Eunpyeong-gu Joint Environmental Maintenance Cleanup’ will take place across the entire Eunpyeong-gu area starting at 9 a.m. on the 6th. Eunpyeong-gu public officials will take the lead in cleaning public facilities such as main roads with heavy foot traffic, areas around subway stations, parks, and streams.
Each of the 16 neighborhoods will select their own cleaning sections to collect trash accumulated in vulnerable residential areas, with a focus on areas around elementary, middle, and high school commuting routes as the new school term begins.
In particular, for the maintenance of Bulgwacheon Stream, about 100 people including the mayor and departments related to flood control, parks, cleaning, and environment will unite to clean the streambed, collect surrounding trash, and maintain road facilities.
Additionally, resource circulation and carbon neutrality environmental campaigns such as the ‘Reduce 100g per household per day and reduce single-use products’ campaign to reduce household waste will be conducted simultaneously to encourage residents’ participation and raise environmental awareness.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “To welcome the coming spring with a fresh mindset and new determination, we plan to carry out a large-scale spring cleaning campaign and will continue to do our best to keep Eunpyeong-gu clean.”
