Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has been selected as an excellent local government in the "2023 Local Government Innovation Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety measures and announces local governments' autonomous innovation capabilities and resident-experienced innovation achievements. It evaluates 243 local governments nationwide by evaluation groups (metropolitan, city, county, district) and selects the top 25% as excellent institutions.

Geumcheon-gu ranked 10th (top 15%) among 69 autonomous districts nationwide and was selected as an excellent institution. Compared to last year's evaluation, its grade rose from "average" to "excellent," and its ranking improved by 32 steps.

All 10 evaluation indicators received a grade of "average" or higher, demonstrating the institution's efforts and concrete achievements in innovation. In particular, it received high scores in ▲ the head of institution's innovation leadership ▲ resident communication policy achievements ▲ activation of public-private cooperation ▲ digital-based service innovation ▲ and public perception, earning an "excellent" grade.

The "digital-based service innovation" was highly evaluated for the "Intelligent Internet of Things (AIoT) Ground Subsidence Measurement and Monitoring System Establishment." This project is an intelligent ground subsidence prediction management system during public building construction that enables preemptive response to disasters.

The "public perception" received high marks for the "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Anbu Dundeun Service." This is the nation's first project that uses big data such as electricity, telecommunications, and apps to check on the well-being of single-person households.

Additionally, ▲ the Intelligent (Smart) Technology Support Center supporting technology and innovation sharing among G-Valley companies ▲ the convenience store for seniors (Good Store) to create jobs for the elderly ▲ and the Geumcheon Win-Win Road connection, which uses land free of charge through public-private cooperation, also received favorable evaluations.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We have achieved the great success of being selected as an excellent institution through field-centered communication administration, resident-centered life-close administration, and citizen-centered inclusive administration," adding, "We will operate a trusted district government by realizing social values and through the participation and cooperation of residents."
