The National Police Agency announced on the 1st that a total of 531 cases of traffic violations, including reckless driving by motorcycle gangs on March 1st, were detected nationwide.
By violation type, there were 2 cases of reckless driving, 27 cases of drunk driving, 17 cases of unlicensed driving, 65 cases of violations of the Automobile Management Act (illegal modifications, obscuring license plates, etc.), and 420 other cases.

The police deployed 1,364 personnel, including 1,096 traffic officers and 268 riot police, as well as 682 vehicles, including 499 patrol cars and 79 police motorcycles, from the night before until early morning on the day of enforcement.
In Seoul, a total of 150 people were caught, including 49 for violations of the Automobile Management Act such as illegal tuning, and 101 for other traffic violations such as drunk and unlicensed driving. No drivers were caught for reckless driving.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency deployed 392 traffic officers and 198 patrol cars and motorcycles to 138 locations, including areas where motorcycle gangs were expected to appear.
A National Police Agency official stated, "Additional charges will be filed after analyzing evidence for serious violations," and added, "We will respond strictly to reckless behavior by motorcycles and others to ensure peaceful daily life on the roads."
