Democrats Strategically Nominate Choo Mi-ae, Gong Young-woon, Kim Yong-man... Lee Eon-ju to Compete in Yongin Jeong Primary

Uijeongbu Eul Gwon Hyuk-gi, Lee Jae-gang, and Lim Geun-jae Primary Election

The Democratic Party of Korea on the 1st strategically nominated former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae in Gyeonggi Hanam-gap, and former Hyundai Motor Company president Gong Young-woon, a recruited talent, in Hwaseong-e, the constituency of Lee Won-wook, a member who left the party and is part of the anti-Lee Jae-myung faction.


On the same day, Ahn Kyu-baek, head of the party's strategic nomination management committee, announced the results of the strategic nomination screening at a briefing at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.

In Hanam-eul, recruited talent and great-grandson of Baekbeom Kim Gu, Kim Yong-man, director of the Korea Provisional Government Memorial Project Association, was selected as the general election candidate, and in Ansan-byeong, Park Hae-cheol, chairman of the National Public Industry Labor Union Federation, was chosen.


In Gyeonggi Yongin-jeong, the constituency of Lee Tan-hee, who declared he would not run, a three-way national primary will be held among former lawmaker Lee Eon-ju, who recently rejoined the party, Lee Heon-wook, former president of Gyeonggi Urban Corporation and a close aide to Representative Lee Jae-myung, and Park Sung-min, former youth secretary at the Blue House.


In Uijeongbu-gap, the constituency of lawmaker Oh Young-hwan, who is not running, the candidate will be decided through a primary between recruited talent No. 1, lawyer Park Ji-hye, and Moon Seok-gyun, son of former National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang and head of the Uijeongbu branch of the Kim Dae-jung Foundation.


In Uijeongbu-eul, the constituency of lawmaker Kim Min-chul, who was cut off (excluded from nomination), a three-way primary will be held among Kwon Hyuk-ki, head of political planning at the party leader's office, and preliminary candidates Lee Jae-gang and Im Geun-jae.


In Gwangmyeong, a two-person primary will be held between incumbent lawmaker Yang Ki-dae of the anti-Lee faction and recruited talent and former party innovation committee member lawyer Kim Nam-hee.


In Incheon Namdong-eul, the constituency of lawmaker Yoon Kwan-seok, who was arrested and left the party due to the 'party convention money envelope' scandal, candidates Lee Byung-rae and Bae Tae-jun will compete, and in Sejong-gap, where lawmaker Hong Sung-guk declared he would not run, candidates Lee Kang-jin, Lee Young-sun, Noh Jong-yong, and Park Beom-jong will compete in the primary.


In Hwaseong-jeong, a primary will be held among proportional representative lawmaker Jeon Yong-gi of the pro-Lee Jae-myung faction, Jin Seok-beom, former president of the Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation and also a pro-Lee figure, and Cho Dae-hyun, former Blue House administrator.


In Jeonnam Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye-gap, the constituency of lawmaker So Byung-chul, who declared he would not run, candidates Son Hun-mo and Kim Moon-soo will compete in the primary.
