The three major indices of the U.S. New York stock market all closed higher on the 29th (local time) as the January increase rate of the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index matched market expectations.
On that day at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.12% compared to the previous trading day to close the session. The S&P 500 index, centered on large-cap stocks, closed up 0.52% from the previous session, and the tech-focused Nasdaq index ended the day 0.9% higher.
