On the 29th at 4 p.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the 'Sanggye Community Sports Center Opening Ceremony' held at the gymnasium on the 5th floor of the Sanggye Community Sports Center in Nowon-gu, Seoul.
The Sanggye Community Sports Center, with a total floor area of 4,180.86㎡ across 3 basement levels and 6 above-ground floors, was constructed through a donation from the Lotte Castle Signature apartment complex in Sanggye-dong.
This public contribution project was promoted to solve the shortage of sports facilities for new apartment residents and to provide more sports facilities to local residents.
The sports center officially opens on March 2 and is fully prepared to accommodate various programs such as swimming, equipment Pilates, cycling & triathlon, tailored by age group, day of the week, and skill level.
The opening ceremony was attended by about 150 people including Mayor Oh Seung-rok, Chairman Kim Jun-seong, and sports officials, proceeding in the order of opening, progress report, presentation of appreciation plaques, greetings, congratulatory speeches, facility tour, commemorative photo session, and unveiling ceremony.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "I thank everyone who worked hard to establish the Sanggye Community Sports Center," and added, "In 2025, the Gongneung Community Center and Seoul Eoullim Sports Center are scheduled to open," emphasizing, "We will continue to steadily increase public sports facilities by region and do our best to promote a healthier life for our residents."
