Me2on Group's KOSDAQ-listed companies Me2on and Ghost Studio announced their full-year 2023 performance results.
Me2on disclosed on the 29th that it recorded annual sales of 109 billion KRW, operating profit of 22.1 billion KRW, and net profit of 18 billion KRW for 2023 in its preliminary earnings report. Its subsidiary, Ghost Studio, reported consolidated financial statement figures of 99.1 billion KRW in sales, 25.1 billion KRW in operating profit, and 21.1 billion KRW in net profit.
This year, Me2on Group expects growth across all business divisions including games, webtoons, and drama production. In the gaming sector, the parent company Me2on plans to release a new social casino title, "Jackpot Vegas," targeting Asian markets such as Taiwan and Japan in the second half of the year.
Ghost Studio plans to sequentially launch four casual games in the first half of this year: the new 3D strategy puzzle game "Match Miracle," the restaurant management simulation game "Cooking Tour," the strategic casual card game "NEW Tripix Farm Adventure," and the casual merge game "Merge Topia." In the second half, they plan to release a PC game, the third-person strategic shooting game "Pizza Bandit."
In the webtoon business division, the grandchild company Bluepic is serializing the popular webtoon "Academy Genius Swordsman" on Naver Webtoon. It completed global launches last year in Asian regions including China and Thailand, as well as in North America. In the first quarter of this year, additional launches were made in regions such as Japan and France, and it is currently serialized in seven overseas countries. In the first half of the year, they plan to serialize webtoons in the fantasy martial arts genre and female-oriented webtoons, continuing to expand their K-content business.
In the drama business division, this year the subsidiary Ghost Studio will produce dramas through OTT (over-the-top) online video services to raise awareness and achieve results, thereby strengthening competitiveness. They also plan to continuously strengthen stable management by supporting a wide range of activities for their affiliated actors, including dramas, advertisements, and fan meetings, as well as recruiting new actors.
Choi Won-seok, Vice President of the Management Strategy Office, said, "Despite challenging internal and external environments last year, Me2on Group maintained solid profitability through multifaceted efforts such as efficient organizational management and cost optimization." He added, "This year, we plan to release new games across various genres and continue efficient service operations alongside our major games." He emphasized, "We will strive to lay the foundation for growth and create mid- to long-term growth potential by expanding our K-content business, including webtoon and drama production."
