Da-Young Lee's Post Targeting Yeon-Kyung Kim Since August Last Year
Volleyball player Lee Da-young made remarks seemingly targeting senior player Kim Yeon-koung again following the news that volleyball player Oh Ji-young received a severe disciplinary action for bullying juniors.
On the 27th, Lee Da-young posted on her Instagram a captured photo of a report stating that Oh Ji-young received a '1-year suspension' for bullying a teammate, along with the caption, "Workplace bullying was even more horrific 4 years ago." In her Instagram story, she also wrote, "Suspended for 1 year due to verbal abuse and other antisocial behaviors. Then what kind of punishment should the player who continuously bullied a junior teammate to the point of making them take extreme measures receive?"

Since August last year, Lee Da-young has continuously posted content seemingly targeting Kim Yeon-koung. She revealed KakaoTalk messages exchanged with Kim Yeon-koung on social media and accused Kim Yeon-koung of being a 'perpetrator of sexual harassment, workplace bullying, ostracism, and abuse of power.' Lee Da-young exposed that "Kim Yeon-koung treated me like a bar hostess," and posted content strongly implying past workplace sexual harassment, including sharing a 'Workplace Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Manual' on social media. She also posted photos of herself with Kim Yeon-koung along with these posts.
Kim Yeon-koung has consistently responded with silence. However, Lee Da-young continues to provoke her by posting harsh criticisms such as "No matter how well you cover it up, the truth will eventually come out," and "Why are you still keeping silent?" repeatedly asserting that she is the victim. She also tagged the hashtags #KoreanSportsCouncilSportsEthicsCenter and #NationalHumanRightsCommission, hinting at taking action with the phrase "The final step is."

Pepper Savings Bank's Oh Ji-young Suspended for 1 Year for Bullying Juniors
Meanwhile, the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) announced on the 28th that Oh Ji-young (35), libero of the professional women's volleyball team Pepper Savings Bank, who was accused of bullying juniors, has been suspended for one year. Following KOVO's decision, Pepper Savings Bank decided to terminate their contract with Oh Ji-young.
Previously, KOVO received a report from an anonymous whistleblower that Oh Ji-young was bullying other players within the team. The KOVO disciplinary committee stated, "It was confirmed that Oh Ji-young bullied juniors starting from June last year, and two juniors left the team," adding, "Through various evidence, we confirmed that Oh Ji-young engaged in bullying, verbal abuse, and other human rights violations." Although Oh Ji-young did not physically assault juniors or conduct assemblies for punishment, the KOVO disciplinary committee classified her words during training and on social media as verbal abuse and considered it a 'serious matter.'
An appeal against this disciplinary action can be filed within ten days. Oh Ji-young's side stated, "Our explanation was not sufficiently reflected. We also have additional materials to submit," and added, "We will request a rehearing."
