Hwasun-gun Prepares First Supplementary Budget Proposal Worth 126.2 Billion KRW

Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) announced on the 29th that it has prepared and submitted the first supplementary budget proposal amounting to 789.4 billion KRW, an increase of 126.2 billion KRW from the original budget, to the county council.

The total budget size is 789.4 billion KRW, which is an increase of 126.2 billion KRW (19.04%) compared to the original budget.


The general account increased by 118.5 billion KRW (20.7%) to 691.8 billion KRW, and the public enterprises and other special accounts increased by 7.7 billion KRW (8.6%) to 97.6 billion KRW.


The main revenue sources for the general account include local allocation tax and others amounting to 74.7 billion KRW, national and provincial subsidies of 25.0 billion KRW, and surplus funds from the previous year of 16.8 billion KRW, totaling 118.5 billion KRW.


By sector, ▲Culture and Tourism: 2.3 billion KRW for the Hwasun Flood Control Park Golf Course and surrounding maintenance, 0.8 billion KRW for the Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival event operation, 0.7 billion KRW for land acquisition for the Hwasun Nonghyup Eastern Branch ▲Social Welfare: 4.0 billion KRW for senior social activity support projects, 1.8 billion KRW for public work projects, 1.3 billion KRW for rental housing support for youth and newlyweds, 1.2 billion KRW for disability activity support benefits ▲Agriculture, Forestry, Marine and Fisheries: 2.0 billion KRW for forest plantation mowing, 1.5 billion KRW for waterproofing and painting work at Jamtong Haetsal Village townhouses, 1.3 billion KRW for drainage improvement in Deokgok district, 1.0 billion KRW for rural care village creation projects, 1.4 billion KRW for new construction of agricultural machinery rental branch office, 0.5 billion KRW for orchid-related industry support ▲Land and Regional Development: 8.7 billion KRW for the creation of the 2nd Bio and Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex, 1.2 billion KRW for comprehensive pedestrian environment maintenance in Jinkak-ro living area in Hwasun County.


Gu Bok-gyu, Governor of Hwasun County, said, “This supplementary budget focuses on accelerating the creation of new growth engines for Hwasun, such as the establishment of the 2nd Bio and Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex and the promotion of the Chullan orchid industry, as well as strengthening cultural and sports sectors like the Flood Control Park Golf Course and the Dolmen Autumn Festival.” He added, “The budget is also balanced across social welfare and agriculture, forestry, marine and fisheries sectors to create a new Hwasun where all residents can be happy.”


Meanwhile, the 2024 first supplementary budget proposal submitted by Hwasun County is scheduled to be reviewed at the 266th extraordinary session of the county council, which will open on March 11.
