Developing Generative AI Using 'Amazon Bedrock'
Official Participation in IPW on AWS
KT is teaming up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to secure competitiveness in generative artificial intelligence (AI) development.
KT announced on the 29th that it has signed a partnership to strengthen cooperation in mobile services for B2B (business-to-business) customers and the generative AI sector with AWS, coinciding with the 'Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024' held in Barcelona, Spain.

Through this partnership, both companies will develop generative AI using Amazon Bedrock and work to expand cloud-based ‘private 5G services.’ Amazon Bedrock is a cloud service that enables enterprises to develop their own AI. It supports the secure integration of generative AI capabilities when developing applications equipped with such AI. Private 5G services are closed, customized 5G networks provided to corporate or public customers.
As part of the partnership with AWS, KT will officially participate in 'IPW (Integrated Private Wireless) on AWS.' IPW on AWS is a program that combines telecom operators’ private wireless technology with AWS. This program allows operators to implement private communication services by deploying core equipment and base stations of 4G or 5G networks on the cloud.
Starting next month, KT’s educational rights protection application 'LangTalk' will also feature an 'AI Call Report,' developed based on collaboration with AWS.
KT expects that AWS cloud-based private 5G services will integrate with AI, machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve on-premises communication environments and flexibly combine with various digital transformation (DX) solutions.
Shivas Nambiar, Global Head of AWS Telecom Business, said, “Korean telecom companies are rapidly innovating by leveraging cloud-based services. KT is successfully utilizing IPW on AWS to simplify the construction and deployment of private networks and provide a connected solutions portfolio that supports services across various key industries.”
Changyong Ahn, Vice President and Head of KT Enterprise Division, said, “We are pleased and excited to continue meaningful cooperation with AWS this year following last year. As a digital innovation partner, KT will actively support the digital transformation of B2B customers based on innovative technologies such as generative AI, cloud, and private 5G.”
